1		HOUSE RESOLUTION
2		WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3		Representatives are pleased to congratulate Ron and Barb Maley
4		of Auburn on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary;
5		and
6		WHEREAS, Ronald Joseph Maley of Auburn and Barbara Anita
7		Stead of Springfield were wed at Blessed Sacrament Church in
8		Springfield by Father Richard Niebrugge and Father Philip Kraft
9		on April 20, 1968; and
10		WHEREAS, Ron, a graduate of Auburn public schools and a
11		veteran of the United States Marine Corps (1961-1966), and
12		Barb, a graduate of Blessed Sacrament School, Ursuline Academy,
13		and St. John's School of Nursing in Springfield, settled in
14		Auburn; and
15		WHEREAS, Ron served as a detective, lieutenant, and chief
16		of police for the Chicago and Illinois Midland Railway in
17		Springfield; he retired in 1993 after 20 years of service, and
18		later worked as a general contractor, building three of the
19		four houses in which he and Barb have resided together, as well
20		as their children's houses; Barb worked as a labor and delivery
21		registered nurse, a nurse educator, and facilitator of the
22		birth center education and information systems at St. John's

1		Hospital in Springfield; she retired in 2012 after 40 years of
2		service, and she continues to volunteer; and
3		WHEREAS, Ron and Barb raised three children, Derek (Julie),
4		Stephanie (Kevin) Keown, and Christopher (Alison) and are
5		blessed with five grandchildren, Andrew, Courtney, Ethan,
6		Caitlyn, and William; and
7		WHEREAS, Ron and Barb enjoy traveling, reading, gardening,
8		and spending time with their family, especially watching their
9		grandchildren play sports; therefore, be it
10		RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
11		HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
12		congratulate Ron and Barb Maley on their 50th wedding
13		anniversary, and we wish them continued happiness for years to
14		come; and be it further
15		RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16		presented to Ron and Barb Maley as a symbol of our respect and
17		esteem.
