HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the cheerleaders
of Lincoln-Way East High School in Frankfort on winning the
Illinois High School Association (IHSA) State Cheerleading
Championship on February 8, 2014; and
WHEREAS, The Lincoln-Way East High School cheerleaders,
the Griffins, toppled their competition in the preliminary
rounds of the IHSA finals on February 7, 2014, finishing at the
top of their division; and
WHEREAS, After posting the top score in their division on
the first day of competition, the Griffins put up another
top-notch routine in the final round and held on to take the
2014 IHSA Large Division Cheerleading State Championship at
U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington; and
WHEREAS, The Griffins put up a final score of 97.06,
beating runner-up Neuqua Valley's 95.00 and third-place
finisher Providence Catholic's 93.94; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
we congratulate the Lincoln-Way East High School cheerleaders,

the Griffins, on winning the IHSA State Cheerleading
Championship; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the Lincoln-Way East High School cheerleaders as
an expression of our esteem and respect.
