| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate The Inland Real Estate | ||||||
| 4 | Group of Companies, Inc. on the occasion of their 50th | ||||||
| 5 | anniversary; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Daniel L. Goodwin, Robert H. Baum, G. Joseph | ||||||
| 7 | Cosenza, and Robert D. Parks began their careers as teachers in | ||||||
| 8 | the Chicago Public Schools; they combined their interest in | ||||||
| 9 | real estate with teamwork and determination and incorporated | ||||||
| 10 | their own business in 1968; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Based in Oak Brook, Inland's early success began | ||||||
| 12 | by building and managing apartments, converting condominiums, | ||||||
| 13 | and developing land; within five years, the four founders left | ||||||
| 14 | teaching and devoted themselves to the business; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Inland has grown into one of the largest | ||||||
| 16 | commercial real estate and finance organizations in the United | ||||||
| 17 | States; the company employs more than 1,000 people, manages | ||||||
| 18 | more than 73,000 apartments nationally, sponsors more than 720 | ||||||
| 19 | investment programs, and serves more than 490,000 investors; | ||||||
| 20 | since its founding, Inland has purchased more than $45 billion | ||||||
| 21 | in commercial real estate across 49 states; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, Daniel L. Goodwin, Chairman and Chief Executive | ||||||
| 2 | Officer, serves as the organization's leader, strategist, and | ||||||
| 3 | governmental lobbyist; Robert H. Baum serves as the Executive | ||||||
| 4 | Vice President, General Counsel, and Vice Chairman, and manages | ||||||
| 5 | nearly 30 lawyers and paralegals, and Vice Chairman; G. Joseph | ||||||
| 6 | Cosenza, Vice Chairman of the Inland Real Estate Group LLC and | ||||||
| 7 | President of Inland Real Estate Acquisitions LLC, acquires | ||||||
| 8 | property for investment groupings; Robert D. Parks, Director, | ||||||
| 9 | Inland Real Estate Investment Corporation, sells Inland's | ||||||
| 10 | products to investors; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Inland has been the recipient of more than 60 | ||||||
| 12 | awards, including the Better Business Bureau Torch Award for | ||||||
| 13 | Ethics, which it received three times in the last decade; it | ||||||
| 14 | was also the first corporation to be named to the Chicago | ||||||
| 15 | Association of REALTORS Hall of Fame in 2014; the Illinois | ||||||
| 16 | REALTORS also honored Daniel L. Goodwin with its first Lifetime | ||||||
| 17 | Achievement Award in 2017; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 19 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 20 | congratulate the Inland Real Estate Group of Companies, Inc. on | ||||||
| 21 | the occasion of its 50th anniversary, and we wish them | ||||||
| 22 | continued success in the commercial real estate industry; and | ||||||
| 23 | be it further
