HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Ethan
4McGinnis Seitzer of Chicago, who passed away on August 16,
52010 at the age of 9; and
6 WHEREAS, Ethan Seitzer was born to Janet Smith and Jeffrey
7"Jeff" Seitzer in Chicago on September 3, 2000; he attended
8Northside Catholic Academy, where he was honored with the
9class reading award in third grade; and
10 WHEREAS, Ethan Seitzer was a voracious reader, with his
11interests ranging from ancient Greek mythology to Egyptology
12and hieroglyphics; at the time of his passing, his favorite
13book was The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan, the first in a series
14of fictional adventure and fantasy books based on Egyptian
15mythology; he also wrote poetry; and
16 WHEREAS, Ethan Seitzer adored classical music and
17Beethoven, and he played and wrote compositions for the piano;
18and
19 WHEREAS, Ethan Seitzer's interests also included cartoons,
20Legos, and creating obscure memory games with his friend,
21Augie; and

1 WHEREAS, Ethan Seitzer will be remembered for his loving
2nature, maturity, intelligence, and fighting spirit; and
3 WHEREAS, At the time of his passing, Ethan Seitzer was
4survived by his parents and his sister, Penelope; therefore,
5be it
6 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
7HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8we mourn the passing of Ethan McGinnis Seitzer and extend our
9sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
10and loved him; and be it further
11 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Ethan Seitzer as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
