HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Ethan
McGinnis Seitzer of Chicago, who passed away on August 16,
2010 at the age of 9; and
WHEREAS, Ethan Seitzer was born to Janet Smith and Jeffrey
"Jeff" Seitzer in Chicago on September 3, 2000; he attended
Northside Catholic Academy, where he was honored with the
class reading award in third grade; and
WHEREAS, Ethan Seitzer was a voracious reader, with his
interests ranging from ancient Greek mythology to Egyptology
and hieroglyphics; at the time of his passing, his favorite
book was The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan, the first in a series
of fictional adventure and fantasy books based on Egyptian
mythology; he also wrote poetry; and
WHEREAS, Ethan Seitzer adored classical music and
Beethoven, and he played and wrote compositions for the piano;
and
WHEREAS, Ethan Seitzer's interests also included cartoons,
Legos, and creating obscure memory games with his friend,
Augie; and

WHEREAS, Ethan Seitzer will be remembered for his loving
nature, maturity, intelligence, and fighting spirit; and
WHEREAS, At the time of his passing, Ethan Seitzer was
survived by his parents and his sister, Penelope; therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
we mourn the passing of Ethan McGinnis Seitzer and extend our
sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
and loved him; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Ethan Seitzer as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
