| 2 | WHEREAS, Our nation celebrated the 245th birthday of the | ||||||
| 3 | United States Army on June 14, 2020, and we give thanks to the | ||||||
| 4 | U.S. Army and to all of the soldiers, civilians, and families | ||||||
| 5 | for their selfless service and sacrifice in the protection of | ||||||
| 6 | our nation; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, The U.S. Army is comprised of soldiers of varying | ||||||
| 8 | ideas, beliefs, and backgrounds, which helps make the U.S. Army | ||||||
| 9 | the respected, diverse organization it is today; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, The U.S. Army is the best trained, best equipped, | ||||||
| 11 | and most talented force in the world; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, The U.S. Army conducted its first "Army National | ||||||
| 13 | Hiring Days" nationwide campaign, with the goal of hiring | ||||||
| 14 | 10,000 new soldiers, from June 30, 2020 through July 2, 2020; | ||||||
| 15 | and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Through the campaign, the U.S. Army sought to hire | ||||||
| 17 | full-time and part-time soldiers in the federal and state | ||||||
| 18 | service; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, The U.S. Army offers career opportunities in 150 | ||||||
| 20 | fields, including cyber, artificial intelligence, healthcare, | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | aviation, data analysis, and many more high demand areas; it | ||||||
| 2 | also offers a comprehensive benefits package that gives our | ||||||
| 3 | soldiers and their families peace of mind, now and in the | ||||||
| 4 | future; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, The U.S. Army offers executive leadership | ||||||
| 6 | opportunities for college students and graduates, and it is the | ||||||
| 7 | largest provider of scholarships in the nation, enabling | ||||||
| 8 | scholars and athletes to attend college and become officers; | ||||||
| 9 | therefore, be it

| 10 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 11 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 12 | we congratulate the United States Army on its first "Army | ||||||
| 13 | National Hiring Days" campaign and thank all the soldiers and | ||||||
