| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the St. Francis High | ||||||
| 4 | School girls volleyball team, the Spartans, on winning its | ||||||
| 5 | fourth straight championship; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The Spartans became the first team to capture four | ||||||
| 7 | straight State titles by defeating Glenbard West High School | ||||||
| 8 | 25-15 and 25-23 for the Class 4A championship on November 14, | ||||||
| 9 | 2015 at Redbird Arena in Normal; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, This was the first State title for the Spartans | ||||||
| 11 | (39-3) in Class 4A after winning the previous 3 Class 3A | ||||||
| 12 | titles; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, The Spartans are helmed by long-time coach, Peg | ||||||
| 14 | Kopec, who will be retiring after 12 State championships and 40 | ||||||
| 15 | seasons that began in 1974; she compiled a career record of | ||||||
| 16 | 1,238-229-2 that includes all 19 of the Spartans' top-4 trophy | ||||||
| 17 | finishers; therefore, be it

| 18 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 19 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 20 | congratulate the St. Francis High School girls volleyball team, | ||||||
| 21 | the Spartans, on winning its fourth straight championship; and | ||||||
