HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Raymond Lunz for
4receiving the "2015 Best School Blood Drive Coordinator Award"
5from the Illinois Coalition of Community Blood Centers; and
6 WHEREAS, In 2012, Raymond Lunz began overseeing the
7organization blood drives at Morton East High School in Cicero,
8which are held 3 times a year; and
9 WHEREAS, The success of Morton East's blood drives are a
10result of Raymond Lunz's leadership in organizing multi-day
11donor recruitment campaigns prior to the drives; and
12 WHEREAS, Raymond Lunz's strong recruitment efforts have
13led to over 500 students being registered to donate prior to
14each blood drive, which is a huge percentage of the school's
15eligible donors; and
16 WHEREAS, Raymond Lunz works with Morton East's
17administrative leadership to ensure the blood drives receive
18great exposure and are advertised on televisions throughout the
19school; and
20 WHEREAS, The results of Raymond Lunz's efforts will

1continue to be seen for years to come because of the critical
2role high school blood drives play in cultivating lifetime
3donors; and
4 WHEREAS, Raymond Lunz has been responsible for the
5collection of over 5,500 units of blood, which have had the
6potential to save over 15,000 lives; therefore, be it
7 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
9commend Raymond Lunz for his selfless service to his community
10and his strong commitment to his students; and be it further
11 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to Raymond Lunz as a symbol of our respect and
13esteem.
