2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate author Philip A. Aleo for |
4 | | his dedication to preserving local history and telling the |
5 | | stories of local communities in Illinois and the United |
6 | | States; and

7 | | WHEREAS, Philip Aleo was born in Chicago and has resided |
8 | | in Dundee Township his entire life; he has developed passions |
9 | | for history, photography, and travel, combining these |
10 | | interests to become an author who has written and published |
11 | | over two dozen historical and photographic books; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, As an author, Philip Aleo has focused prominently |
13 | | on local history, avidly researching and documenting the |
14 | | stories of intriguing buildings, landmarks, and people in |
15 | | local communities, including Carpentersville, Dundee Township, |
16 | | Galena, and Sleepy Hollow in Illinois and Durango, Ouray, |
17 | | Silverton, and the ghost town of St. Elmo in Colorado; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Philip Aleo's first publication, Dundee Township, |
19 | | Moments Frozen In Time, began as a project of personal |
20 | | interest with no intentions of becoming a book but grew into a |
21 | | publication when he recognized his interests in history and |
22 | | photography could be used to help the local community preserve |
