HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate OMNI Youth Services on
4the occasion of its 50th anniversary; and
5 WHEREAS, OMNI Youth Services was founded on June 29, 1972
6by a concerned group of community members determined to
7provide a 24-hour hotline for Wheeling youth in mental health
8crisis; and
9 WHEREAS, To meet the needs of the Wheeling community and
10surrounding area, OMNI Youth Services rapidly expanded its
11mission to providing affordable and accessible mental health
12services and counseling to children and youth in need in the
13Northwest Chicago suburbs; and
14 WHEREAS, The dedication of the OMNI Youth Services team
15and partnerships with individuals, businesses, and community
16organizations have allowed OMNI Youth Services to continue to
17grow and serve its communities; and
18 WHEREAS, OMNI Youth Services has impacted the lives of
19over 750,000 Illinois residents during its 50 years of service
20and has served in over 85 different Illinois communities,
21working independently and at times in partnership with

1organizations such as DCFS, local municipalities, police
2departments, and juvenile justice systems; and
3 WHEREAS, America is in a youth mental health crisis so
4extensive and pervasive that the U.S. Surgeon General released
5an Advisory on the Status of Youth Mental Health to help
6educate and draw attention to the immense need America's youth
7have for mental health services; and
8 WHEREAS, The State of Illinois supports all residents and
9youth who are in need of mental health services and wants them
10to receive these services in an safe and accessible way,
11whether to treat a mental illness, keep a family intact, or
12start on the road of substance use recovery; and
13 WHEREAS, OMNI Youth Services has provided necessary and
14effective mental health services for 50 years and continues to
15do so; therefore, be it
16 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
17HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
18we declare June 29, 2022 as "OMNI YOUTH SERVICES DAY" in the
19State of Illinois; and be it further
20 RESOLVED, That we congratulate OMNI Youth Services on its
2150th anniversary; and be it further
