| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives
wish to congratulate Lucille Lovett on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of her 100th birthday on February 18, 2020; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Lucille Lovett was born in Waverly and grew up
on | ||||||
| 6 | the family farm in Murrayville, where she was the oldest
of | ||||||
| 7 | eight children; she enjoyed horseback riding and loved being
an | ||||||
| 8 | older sister to her brothers and sisters; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Lucille Lovett graduated from Murrayville High
| ||||||
| 10 | School and moved to St. Louis to attend
business college; she | ||||||
| 11 | started working for First National Bank
in St. Louis in 1940 | ||||||
| 12 | but returned
to Murrayville in 1944 to help raise her siblings | ||||||
| 13 | at the family
homestead; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Lucille Lovett began working for Bound to
Stay | ||||||
| 15 | Bound Books in Jacksonville in 1964 and worked there until her
| ||||||
| 16 | retirement in 1995; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Lucille Lovett has a passion for
baking and her | ||||||
| 18 | apple pie has won the Jacksonville Applefest
numerous times; | ||||||
| 19 | she enjoys growing beans and
tomatoes in her home garden; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Lucille Lovett has kept active in retirement by | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | doing volunteer
work at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville; she | ||||||
| 2 | is a
lifetime member of the Murrayville American Legion, which | ||||||
| 3 | she has
diligently supported for decades; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, For over 56 years, Lucille Lovett has lived
in
| ||||||
| 5 | Jacksonville; she is the mother of three children,
grandmother | ||||||
| 6 | to eight, and great-grandmother to 24; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 7 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 8 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 9 | we congratulate Lucille Lovett on her 100th birthday, and we | ||||||
| 10 | wish her many more wonderful years; and be it further
| ||||||
| 11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 12 | presented to Lucille Lovett as a symbol of our respect and | ||||||
| 13 | esteem.
