1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate the players, | ||||||
4 | coaches, and families of the Hinsdale Little League All Stars | ||||||
5 | 12U on winning the Illinois State Championship; and | ||||||
6 | representing the State of Illinois at the Great Lakes Regional | ||||||
7 | Tournament; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Prior to this year, Hinsdale had never won a 12U | ||||||
9 | state championship, but, the past two summers, squads composed | ||||||
10 | of virtually the same players claimed state titles at the 10U | ||||||
11 | and 11U levels; upon entering the 12U state tournament, | ||||||
12 | Hinsdale's all-star team had only lost one game; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, The Illinois State Competition is partitioned | ||||||
14 | into three stages: districts, sections, and state; teams | ||||||
15 | competing for state glory are essentially all-star squads | ||||||
16 | comprised of some of the best players at each level from their | ||||||
17 | respective leagues; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, In the state championship game, a team from | ||||||
19 | Beardstown stood between Hinsdale and a trip to the Great Lakes | ||||||
20 | Regional Tournament; the 12U team secured the championship | ||||||
21 | title with a score of 4-0 and attribute their win to their | ||||||
22 | defense and pitching; and

1 | WHEREAS, After claiming the Illinois State Championship, | ||||||
2 | Hinsdale advanced to the Great Lakes Regional Tournament in | ||||||
3 | Westfield, Indiana; the 12Us competed, on national television, | ||||||
4 | against a field of state champions from Indiana, Kentucky, | ||||||
5 | Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin for a right to play in the Little | ||||||
6 | League World Series; and

7 | WHEREAS, The Hinsdale Little League All Stars 12U were | ||||||
8 | coached by Bench Coaches, Jeff Kolke and Rick Eck; Practice | ||||||
9 | Coaches, Ric Phillips and Jimmy Smith; and Manager, Anthony | ||||||
10 | Waelter; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, The Hinsdale Little League All Stars 12U were Evan | ||||||
12 | Phillips, Andres Waelter, Emerson Eck, Reece Kolke, Jakobi | ||||||
13 | Lange, Ben Oosterbaan, Max Williams, Grant Davis, Joe Boggs, | ||||||
14 | Max Merlo, Charlie Bergen, and Lucas Smith; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, The Hinsdale Little League All Stars 12U serve as | ||||||
16 | models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people | ||||||
17 | of the State; therefore, be it

18 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
19 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
20 | congratulate the Hinsdale Little League All Stars 12U on | ||||||
21 | winning the 12U Illinois State Championship and competing in |

1 | the Great Lakes Regional Tournament, and we wish them success | ||||||
2 | in all of their future endeavors, both on and off the field; | ||||||
3 | and be it further

4 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | ||||||
