| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Shane Huwer on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of his retirement from the United Brotherhood of | ||||||
| 5 | Carpenters and Joiners of America after serving for over 27 | ||||||
| 6 | years; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Shane Huwer began his career as a union carpenter | ||||||
| 8 | by joining Local 433 in Belleville in 1990; he served his | ||||||
| 9 | 4-year apprenticeship with the Southern Illinois JAC; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Shane Huwer was hired as a residential organizer | ||||||
| 11 | by Executive Secretary-Treasurer Jim McGuire of the Southern | ||||||
| 12 | Illinois District Council in 1994; since then, he has served | ||||||
| 13 | in several positions for the Carpenters Union, including | ||||||
| 14 | assistant director of organizing, assistant political | ||||||
| 15 | director, and treasurer of the Southern Illinois Carpenters | ||||||
| 16 | PAC; he has also been responsible for the shops and industrial | ||||||
| 17 | sector, serviced a construction area, and completed numerous | ||||||
| 18 | other duties; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Shane Huwer has served four different regional | ||||||
| 20 | councils of the Carpenters Union over the course of his | ||||||
| 21 | career; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, Shane Huwer is the husband of Diane, and they | ||||||
| 2 | have been married since July 13, 1998; together, they have | ||||||
| 3 | five children, Justin, Jacob, Austin, Philip, and Crystal, | ||||||
| 4 | three daughters-in-law, Melissa, Ashley, and Megan, one | ||||||
| 5 | son-in-law, Zach, and eight grandchildren, Ella, Alissa, | ||||||
| 6 | Bentley, Lydia, Ava, Greta, Margo, and Violet; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Alongside his wife, Shane Huwer's retirement | ||||||
| 8 | plans include spending more time with their children and | ||||||
| 9 | grandchildren, boating, golfing, and traveling; he also plans | ||||||
| 10 | on bass fishing more with his brothers-in-law; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Shane Huwer will retire from the Carpenters Union | ||||||
| 12 | on December 31, 2021; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 14 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 15 | we congratulate Shane Huwer on his retirement from the United | ||||||
| 16 | Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, and we wish | ||||||
| 17 | him the best in his future endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 19 | presented to Shane Huwer as an expression of our esteem and | ||||||
| 20 | respect.
