| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Timothy B. Kilrea Ed.D. | ||||||
| 4 | on the occasion of his retirement as Superintendent of Lyons | ||||||
| 5 | Township High School District 204; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Dr. Kilrea has served for more than 35 years in | ||||||
| 7 | education; he began his career as a history teacher and served | ||||||
| 8 | in Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 as assistant | ||||||
| 9 | dean of students, department chair, coordinator of | ||||||
| 10 | deans/director of student activities, and associate principal | ||||||
| 11 | for Curriculum and Instruction; he also served as an assistant | ||||||
| 12 | superintendent at Thornton Fractional Township High School | ||||||
| 13 | District 215 and as principal at Thornton Fractional South | ||||||
| 14 | High School; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, During his tenure as Superintendent of District | ||||||
| 16 | 204, Dr. Kilrea oversaw initiatives in many areas, including | ||||||
| 17 | facilities, technology, and curriculum; he maintained strong | ||||||
| 18 | and collaborative relationships with the superintendents of | ||||||
| 19 | the district's associate schools and has been a fervent | ||||||
| 20 | advocate for efficiencies and the streamlining of educational | ||||||
| 21 | services and programming for tax payers in the district; and
| ||||||
| 22 | WHEREAS, Dr. Kilrea is a member of the La Grange Area | ||||||

| 1 | Department of Special Education Directing Board, the Illinois | ||||||
| 2 | Association of School Administrators Board of Directors, and | ||||||
| 3 | the DuPage Area Occupational Education System Board of | ||||||
| 4 | Directors; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Dr. Kilrea holds a bachelor's degree in Secondary | ||||||
| 6 | Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, | ||||||
| 7 | a master's degree in Educational Administration from | ||||||
| 8 | Governor's State University, and a doctorate in Educational | ||||||
| 9 | Administration from Illinois State University; therefore, be | ||||||
| 10 | it

| 11 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 12 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 13 | we congratulate Timothy B. Kilrea Ed.D. on his retirement as | ||||||
| 14 | Superintendent of Lyons Township High School District 204, | ||||||
| 15 | commend him for his contributions to the education of our | ||||||
| 16 | youth, and wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and | ||||||
| 17 | be it further

| 18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 19 | presented to Dr. Kilrea as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
