2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives wish to commend Colonel Aaron J. Wolff Jr.,
| ||||||
4 | U.S. Army (Ret.) of Plainfield for serving the State of | ||||||
5 | Illinois and the nation for 59 years; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Colonel Wolff entered the United States Army upon | ||||||
7 | graduating from college in 1958 and served
for 30 years, | ||||||
8 | retiring as a colonel; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, After Colonel Wolff's retirement, he continued to | ||||||
10 | serve the veterans of this nation and State at many levels; he | ||||||
11 | is a member and officer of one of the largest
national | ||||||
12 | organizations representing veterans, the Military Officers | ||||||
13 | Association of America
(MOAA); and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, MOAA represents over 370,000 members from every | ||||||
15 | branch of service, including
active duty, National Guard, | ||||||
16 | Reserve, retired, former officers, and their families; MOAA is | ||||||
17 | a
powerful force that speaks for a strong national defense and | ||||||
18 | represents the interests of military
officers at every stage of | ||||||
19 | their careers; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Colonel Wolff has effectively served the entire | ||||||
21 | military community, protecting the
earned benefits of military |

1 | members at all levels; his service to all branches of the | ||||||
2 | military is reflected in the
motto of the Military Officers | ||||||
3 | Association of America, "Never Stop Serving", signifying that | ||||||
4 | the
greatest honor lies in service; and

5 | WHEREAS, Colonel Wolff's service to the community and the | ||||||
6 | heritage of the military has been a
bulwark and a strength to | ||||||
7 | many; his work as a legislative assistant to the local chapters | ||||||
8 | of
MOAA and in national matters relating to military officers | ||||||
9 | has kept major issues that impact the
lives of both military | ||||||
10 | members and their families on the active agendas of our | ||||||
11 | communities; his
selfless service will continue as he retires | ||||||
12 | from MOAA; therefore, be it

13 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
14 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
15 | commend Colonel Aaron J. Wolff Jr.,
U.S. Army (Ret.) for | ||||||
16 | serving the State of Illinois and the nation for 59 years; and | ||||||
17 | be it further
