1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, On April 29 and 30, 2017, 14 students will
be | ||||||
3 | completing an aerospace project to try and break the world
| ||||||
4 | record for the highest radio-controlled airplane flight; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, These students have completed a six-week training
| ||||||
6 | program in which they learned how to put together a project of
| ||||||
7 | this nature, how to fly radio-controlled airplanes, and how to | ||||||
8 | read
and understand the telemetry information sent back to the | ||||||
9 | ground
station from the aircraft; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Their studies included meteorology, aeronautics,
| ||||||
11 | aerodynamics, electrical theory, and system integration; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, They built, assembled, and tested three unmanned
| ||||||
13 | air vehicles that will attempt to reach 100,000 feet and | ||||||
14 | shatter
the current record for highest radio-controlled | ||||||
15 | airplane flight; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, The 14 students from Nippersink Middle
School and | ||||||
17 | Richmond Burton High School will travel to Spaceport,
New | ||||||
18 | Mexico to undertake an Aerospace STEM Challenge; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, The students are Gerrit Kaup, Jacob Minker, Maggie
| ||||||
20 | Ortmeyer, Eric Gordon, Hanne Nestler, Cody Lillge, Max Glassar,

3 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
4 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
5 | recognize these 14 students for the work they have done
and | ||||||
6 | wish them luck at the Aerospace STEM Challenge; and be it | ||||||

8 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
