| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate the students that | ||||||
| 4 | make up C2S2, "Climate Change Student Summit", of Clifford | ||||||
| 5 | Crone Middle School in Naperville; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, After a visit by Mrs. Louise Huffman, Coordinator | ||||||
| 7 | of Education and Public Outreach for Andrill, the group of | ||||||
| 8 | students became inspired to encourage others to save the | ||||||
| 9 | environment; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Andrill (ANtarctic geological DRILLing) is a | ||||||
| 11 | multinational collaboration that recovers stratigraphic | ||||||
| 12 | records from the Antarctic margin to compare current and past | ||||||
| 13 | climate changes; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, The students have participated in events to help | ||||||
| 15 | others better understand climate change issues; the events have | ||||||
| 16 | included a trip to the Fermi Laboratory in Batavia, the | ||||||
| 17 | International Climate Summit at the Museum of Science and | ||||||
| 18 | Industry in Chicago, where they participated in the first | ||||||
| 19 | International Video Climate Conference, and the Cool | ||||||
| 20 | Ride-Clean Choice environmental event held in Naperville; and
| ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, The students have spoken to other groups and | ||||||

| 1 | school districts, helping them to begin their own science | ||||||
| 2 | programs based on environmental and climate related issues; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, The students that make up C2S2 are Joey Amaro, | ||||||
| 4 | Brooke Bedford, Ashely Collins, Alex Napoli, Andrew Geers, | ||||||
| 5 | Gerard Lamb, Ben Hunter, Jeremy Royko, Michael Whaley, Kevin | ||||||

| 7 | Maureen Tite, Megan Childs, Santino Morena, Casey Gahrs, Corey | ||||||

| 10 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||

| 12 | congratulate the students of C2S2 for their hard work and | ||||||
| 13 | dedication to helping save our planet; and be it further

| 15 | presented to the students of C2S2 as a symbol of our respect.
