1		HOUSE RESOLUTION
2		WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3		Representatives are pleased to congratulate Jacob Renz for
4		achieving the coveted rank of Eagle Scout; and
5		WHEREAS, Jacob Renz lives in Spring Grove and is a member
6		of Boy Scouts of America Troop 340 and the most recent member
7		of Troop 340 to obtain the rank of Eagle Scout; and
8		WHEREAS, Jacob Renz lead a team of 22 people over the
9		course of 2 days to install a decorative stone wall and
10		landscape around 2 entrance signs to Grace Lutheran Church in
11		Richmond; he chose this project to improve the landscape around
12		the church and to attract new members from the community to the
13		church; he spent over 4 months in preparation and raised $1,200
14		and donated 144 hours to this service project; and
15		WHEREAS, Jacob Renz has participated in many other service
16		projects including: the Adopt a Highway Program, the Spring
17		Grove Food Pantry, conservation projects in his community, and
18		wrapping gifts for the less fortunate at Christmas time; and
19		WHEREAS, Jacob Renz has excelled academically since middle
20		school and is currently placed in advanced algebra, advanced
21		language arts, and advanced science; he participates in many

1		extracurricular activities such as drama club, choir, jazz
2		band, and concert band; and
3		WHEREAS, Jacob Renz will begin high school in the fall and
4		will continue his academic studies by taking honors english,
5		honors biology, and honors geometry; he would like to attend
6		college and major in law and minor in political science in
7		order to someday become a lawyer and run for the Illinois House
8		of Representatives or the Illinois State Senate; and
9		WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout will be bestowed upon
10		Jacob Renz by the Boy Scouts of America at a Court of Honor
11		ceremony on March 9, 2013, at Grace Lutheran Church in
12		Richmond; and
13		WHEREAS, Jacob Renz reflects the Boy Scouts of America's
14		best traditions of leadership, service to others,
15		responsibility, and dedication to his community; therefore, be
16		it
17		RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
18		NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
19		we congratulate Jacob Renz on obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout
20		and wish him continued achievement in the future; and be it
