HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
Representatives wish to congratulate Edward W. Paesel on the
occasion of his retirement as Executive Director of the South
Suburban Mayors and Managers Association; and
WHEREAS, Edward Paesel assumed his position as Executive
Director in 2000; prior to that, he served as Director of the
Third Airport Information Clearinghouse from 1989 to 2000, and
as Mayor of Sauk Village from 1977 to 1989; and
WHEREAS, Edward Paesel currently serves as Chairman of the
Land Use Committee and as a member of the Planning Coordinating
Committee for the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning; he
also currently serves on the South Suburban Land Bank Board,
the Chicago Southland Fiber Network Board, and the Cook County
Economic Development Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, Edward Paesel attended Bloom Township High School
in Chicago Heights and was elected to its Hall of Fame in 2000;
he received his bachelor's degree from Illinois State
University in 1971 and his master's degree in history from
Illinois State University in 1973; therefore, be it

HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
congratulate Edward W. Paesel on his retirement as Executive
Director of the South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association,
and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to Edward Paesel as an expression of our esteem and
respect.
