2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Ernest | ||||||
4 | Vincent Sr., who passed away on December 31, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Ernest Vincent was born in Hazlehurst, | ||||||
6 | Mississippi to Eddie and Willie Mae Vincent on May 27, 1943; he | ||||||
7 | graduated from Damascus Elementary School and from Parrish High | ||||||
8 | School in April of 1961; he graduated from Utica Junior College | ||||||
9 | in Mississippi in May of 1963; he joined the U.S. Army in May | ||||||
10 | of 1965 and was honorably discharged in May of 1971; among his | ||||||
11 | many military commendations include the Rifle Marksman Badge, | ||||||
12 | the National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal; | ||||||
13 | he married Sandra "Bonita" Criner on June 29, 1974; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Ernest Vincent worked for 18 years at the National | ||||||
15 | Castings Corporation; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Ernest Vincent was affectionately known as | ||||||
17 | "Dada"; his home was always open to anyone in need and he made | ||||||
18 | sure his children and grandchildren had everything they needed | ||||||
19 | to be successful in life; in September of 1955 at the age of | ||||||
20 | 12, he was baptized and joined the Damascus Church in | ||||||
21 | Hazlehurst, and in 1990, he joined the Monument of Faith | ||||||
22 | Church; he always enjoyed the annual family vacations; and

2 | Sandra; his daughter, Roshantta Criner; his
parents; his | ||||||
3 | siblings, John L., Mary, Roy, Inez, Frances Lottie, and Bertha; | ||||||
4 | his father-in-law, Sam Henry
Criner; and his mother-in-law, | ||||||
5 | Mary Lee Wiggly; and

6 | WHEREAS, Ernest Vincent is survived by his children, Evelyn | ||||||
7 | Dawson, Keith (Karen) Criner, Ernest Moore,
Tremayne (Deborah) | ||||||
8 | Criner, William "DJ" (Valerie) Moore, Christopher (Shauntrece) | ||||||
9 | Vincent Sr., and
Carita (Eliathan) Smith Sr.; his | ||||||
10 | grandchildren, Krystal, Allan, Nefertiti, Kierstan, Trenzel, | ||||||
11 | Da'Shayla,
Zamare, Whitney, Nigel, Eliathan Jr., Rondre, Zion, | ||||||

2 | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | ||||||

5 | presented to the family of Ernest Vincent as an expression of | ||||||
6 | our deepest sympathy.
