SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
ILCON Art. I. Sec. 22

Proposes to amend the Right to Arms provision of the Illinois Constitution. Provides that subject only to the police power, in addition to the right of the individual citizen to keep and bear arms, the individual citizen has the right to carry firearms. Effective upon being declared adopted.

3 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
4HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE
5SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that there shall be submitted to the
6electors of the State for adoption or rejection at the general
7election next occurring at least 6 months after the adoption
8of this resolution a proposition to amend Article I of the
9Illinois Constitution by changing Section 22 as follows:

13SECTION 22. RIGHT TO ARMS
14 Subject only to the police power, the right of the
15individual citizen to keep and bear arms and to carry firearms
16shall not be infringed.

SCHEDULE
19 This Constitutional Amendment takes effect upon being
20declared adopted in accordance with Section 7 of the Illinois
21Constitutional Amendment Act.
