1 | HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, On January 12, 2019, at approximately 4:43 p.m., | ||||||
3 | Trooper Christopher Lambert #6527 was on the scene of a | ||||||
4 | three-vehicle traffic crash in the left lane on I-294 near | ||||||
5 | Willow Road; while he was handling that crash, another vehicle | ||||||
6 | failed to stop and struck Trooper Lambert while he was outside | ||||||
7 | of his patrol car; Trooper Lambert sustained serious injuries | ||||||
8 | as a result of the crash; he was transported to Glenbrook | ||||||
9 | Hospital and succumbed to his injuries at approximately 7:24 | ||||||
10 | p.m.; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Trooper Lambert began his career with the ISP on | ||||||
12 | November 10, 2013 as part of Cadet Class 123; upon his | ||||||
13 | graduation from the ISP Academy, he was assigned to District 15 | ||||||
14 | in Downers Grove; he had recently been assigned to District | ||||||
15 | 15's Criminal Patrol Team; and

16 | WHEREAS, Throughout his career with the ISP, Trooper | ||||||
17 | Lambert was recognized for his hard work, criminal interdiction | ||||||
18 | efforts, and for being a rising leader amongst his peers; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Trooper Lambert exemplified the Illinois State | ||||||
20 | Police's motto of Integrity, Service, Pride; and
| ||||||
21 | WHEREAS, Trooper Lambert grew up in Dayton, Ohio, where he |

1 | attended elementary and high school; he served honorably in the | ||||||
2 | United States Army and Army Reserve for eight years; he loved | ||||||
3 | Chicago Cubs baseball and was an avid fan of the Chicago | ||||||
4 | Blackhawks; and

5 | WHEREAS, Trooper Christopher Lambert is survived by his | ||||||
6 | wife; his one-year-old daughter; and his parents; therefore, be | ||||||
7 | it

8 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
9 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE | ||||||
10 | SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we designate the section of | ||||||
11 | I-294 between mile marker 49.25 and 50 as the "ISP Trooper | ||||||
12 | Christopher Lambert Memorial Highway"; and be it further
| ||||||
13 | RESOLVED, That the Illinois Tollway is requested to erect | ||||||
14 | at suitable locations, consistent with
State and federal | ||||||
15 | regulations, appropriate plaques or signs
giving notice of the | ||||||
16 | name of
"ISP Trooper Christopher Lambert Memorial Highway"; and | ||||||
17 | be it further

18 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | ||||||
19 | presented to the family of Trooper Lambert and the Executive | ||||||
20 | Director of the Illinois Tollway.
