Bill Title: Amends the Administration Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. In regard to work participation requirements under the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program, prohibits the Department of Human Services from submitting to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services a TANF demonstration project waiver proposal in order to (i) forgo compliance with federal mandates concerning work activities for TANF recipients and (ii) develop an experimental, pilot, or demonstration project to meet the work goals of the TANF program. Effective immediately.

305 ILCS 5/12-4.45 new

Amends the Administration Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. 1 AN ACT concerning public aid.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
5adding Section 12-4.45 as follows:
6 (305 ILCS 5/12-4.45 new)
7 Sec. 12-4.45. TANF; work participation requirements;
8waiver restriction. In regard to work participation
9requirements under the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families
10(TANF) program, the Department of Human Services shall not
11submit to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and
12Human Services a TANF demonstration project waiver proposal
13pursuant to Section 1115 of the Social Security Act in order to
14(i) forgo compliance with federal mandates concerning work
15activities for TANF recipients under Section 402 of the Social
16Security Act and (ii) develop an experimental, pilot, or
17demonstration project to meet the work goals of the TANF
18program.
19 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
20becoming law.
