Bill Title: Amends the Children with Disabilities Article of the School Code. Provides that, for the Chicago school district only, the school board must advertise any corrective actions that may be taken against the school board for denying or delaying special education services to a student of that school district beginning with the 2015-2016 school year through the 2017-2018 school year, including, but not limited to, any legal recourse that may be taken against the school board and the special education services that may be provided by the school district. Provides that the corrective actions must be advertised, at a minimum, on its publicly available Internet website, in newspapers of general circulation in the district, and on social media posts. Requires the State Board of Education to approve the content of the advertisements and to ensure that the scope of the advertising effort is sufficient to reach as many parents or guardians as possible. Effective immediately.

Amends the Children with Disabilities Article of the School Code. 1 AN ACT concerning education.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section
514-8.02f as follows:
6 (105 ILCS 5/14-8.02f new)
7 Sec. 14-8.02f. Special education services; city with more
8than 500,000 inhabitants.
9 (a) This Section applies only to school districts organized
10under Article 34 of this Code.
11 (b) A school board must advertise any corrective actions
12that may be taken against the school board for denying or
13delaying special education services to a student of that school
14district beginning with the 2015-2016 school year through the
152017-2018 school year, including, but not limited to, any legal
16recourse that may be taken against the school board and the
17special education services that may be provided by the school
18district. The corrective actions must be advertised, at a
