Bill Title: Amends the Department of Agriculture Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Director of Agriculture, or his or her designee, shall convene interested stakeholders to develop a proposal to effectively and efficiently promote urban agriculture in municipalities in the State. Provides that on or before December 31, 2019, the Department shall report their findings the Chairperson of the Agriculture and Conservation Committee of the Senate, and the Chairperson of the Agriculture & Conservation Committee of the House of Representatives. Defines "urban agriculture". Repeals the provision on January 1, 2020.

AN ACT concerning agriculture.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Department of Agriculture Law of the Civil
Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section
205-332 as follows:
(20 ILCS 205/205-332 new)
Sec. 205-332. Urban agriculture report.
(a) In this Section "urban agriculture" means producing
agricultural plants, poultry, or livestock on public or private
property within a municipality's limits.
(b) The Director of Agriculture, or his or her designee,
shall convene interested stakeholders to develop a proposal to
effectively and efficiently promote urban agriculture in
municipalities in this State. On or before December 31, 2019,
the Department shall report their findings the Chairperson of
the Agriculture and Conservation Committee of the Senate, and
the Chairperson of the Agriculture & Conservation Committee of
the House of Representatives.
(c) This Section is repealed on January 1, 2020.
