Bill Title: Amends the Firearm Dealer License Certification Act. Provides that each certified licensee shall keep all video surveillance records for a period of not less than 60 (rather than 90) days. Effective immediately.

1 | AN ACT concerning safety.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| |||||||||||||||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The Firearm Dealer License Certification Act is | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | amended by changing Section 5-80 as follows:

6 | (430 ILCS 68/5-80)

7 | Sec. 5-80. Retention of records. Each certified licensee | |||||||||||||||||||
8 | shall keep,
either in electronic form or hard copy, all | |||||||||||||||||||
9 | acquisition and disposition records
for a period of time no | |||||||||||||||||||
10 | less than the time required under 27 CFR 478.129 or any | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | subsequent law that regulates the retention of records. All | |||||||||||||||||||
12 | video surveillance
records, along with any sound recordings | |||||||||||||||||||
13 | obtained from them, shall be kept
for a period of not less than | |||||||||||||||||||
14 | 60 90 days.
