Bill Title: Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that disenrollment of a Medicaid enrollee from a managed care organization under contract with the Department of Healthcare and Family Services shall be in accordance with specified federal requirements whenever a contract is terminated between a Medicaid managed care health plan and a primary care provider that results in a disruption to the Medicaid enrollee's provider-beneficiary relationship. Effective immediately.

SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
305 ILCS 5/5-30.6 new

Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that disenrollment of a Medicaid enrollee from a managed care organization under contract with the Department of Healthcare and Family Services shall be in accordance with specified federal requirements whenever a contract is terminated between a Medicaid managed care health plan and a primary care provider that results in a disruption to the Medicaid enrollee's provider-beneficiary relationship. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning public aid.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
5adding Section 5-30.6 as follows:
6 (305 ILCS 5/5-30.6 new)
7 Sec. 5-30.6. Disenrollment requirements; managed care
8organization. Disenrollment of a Medicaid enrollee from a
9managed care organization under contract with the Department
10shall be in accordance with the requirements of 42 CFR 438.56
11whenever a contract is terminated between a Medicaid managed
12care health plan and a primary care provider that results in a
13disruption to the Medicaid enrollee's provider-beneficiary
14relationship.
15 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
16becoming law.
