Bill Title: Amends the General Assembly Compensation Act. Provides that no public funds, including, but not limited to, funds appropriated for the pay and allowances of members of the General Assembly, shall be used to create a payout of money to any person involved with and relevant to allegations and investigations of sexual harassment by a member of the General Assembly. Makes conforming changes. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning State government.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The General Assembly Compensation Act is amended
by adding Section 5 as follows:
(25 ILCS 115/5 new)
Sec. 5. Prohibition on sexual harassment payoffs.
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no public funds,
including, but not limited to, funds appropriated for office
allowances under Section 4, shall be paid to any person in
exchange for his or her silence or inaction related to an
allegation or investigation of sexual harassment, as defined in
Section 5-65 of the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act,
committed or allegedly committed by a member of the General
Assembly.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
