AN ACT concerning transportation.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Transportation Network Providers Act is
amended by adding Section 17 as follows:
(625 ILCS 57/17 new)
Sec. 17. Employment status. Notwithstanding any laws to the
contrary, a TNC and a driver may establish by contract that the
driver is an independent contractor and not an employee of the
TNC.
