1 AN ACT concerning transportation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Transportation Network Providers Act is
5amended by adding Section 17 as follows:
6 (625 ILCS 57/17 new)
7 Sec. 17. Employment status. Notwithstanding any laws to the
8contrary, a TNC and a driver may establish by contract that the
9driver is an independent contractor and not an employee of the
10TNC.
