520 ILCS 5/3.4b new

Amends the Wildlife Code. Provides that persons licensed to possess a concealed firearm under the Firearm Concealed Carry Act and current or retired police officers authorized by law to possess a concealed firearm shall be exempt from provisions of the Code prohibiting possession of those firearms.

1 AN ACT concerning wildlife.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Wildlife Code is amended by adding Section
53.4b as follows:
6 (520 ILCS 5/3.4b new)
7 Sec. 3.4b. Exemption. Persons licensed to possess a
8concealed firearm under the Firearm Concealed Carry Act and
9current or retired police officers authorized by law to possess
10a concealed firearm shall be exempt from provisions of this
11Code prohibiting possession of those firearms. However,
12nothing in this Section authorizes the use of those firearms
13except as authorized in the Firearm Concealed Carry Act, this
14Code, or other law.
