20 ILCS 605/605-1025 new

Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department shall create a statewide business retention and expansion program and provide technical assistance to program participants. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning State government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic
5Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is
6amended by adding Section 605-1025 as follows:
7 (20 ILCS 605/605-1025 new)
8 Sec. 605-1025. Business retention and expansion program.
9The Department shall create a statewide business retention and
10expansion program to utilize State-funded grants for targeted
11companies, including nonprofit organizations, local
12governments, municipal authorities, industrial development
13agencies, and community organizations. The Department shall
14also provide technical assistance to program participants.
15 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
16becoming law.
