Bill Title: Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department shall create a statewide business retention and expansion program and provide technical assistance to program participants. Effective immediately.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
6 | amended by adding Section 605-1025 as follows:

7 | (20 ILCS 605/605-1025 new) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
8 | Sec. 605-1025. Business retention and expansion program. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
9 | The Department shall create a statewide business retention and | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
10 | expansion program to utilize State-funded grants for targeted | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
11 | companies, including nonprofit organizations, local | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
12 | governments, municipal authorities, industrial development | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
13 | agencies, and community organizations. The Department shall | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
14 | also provide technical assistance to program participants.

15 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
16 | becoming law.
