Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department shall create a statewide business retention and expansion program and provide technical assistance to program participants. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning State government.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic
Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is
amended by adding Section 605-1025 as follows:
(20 ILCS 605/605-1025 new)
Sec. 605-1025. Business retention and expansion program.
The Department shall create a statewide business retention and
expansion program to utilize State-funded grants for targeted
companies, including nonprofit organizations, local
governments, municipal authorities, industrial development
agencies, and community organizations. The Department shall
also provide technical assistance to program participants.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
