Bill Title: Amends the Permanent Noise Monitoring Act. Provides that on or before June 30, 2018 each airport shall upgrade its permanent noise monitoring system to be capable of producing the data necessary to meet the requirements of Public Act 99-202. Provides that on June 30, 2018 and thereafter an airport's permanent noise monitoring report and noise contour maps shall be produced using the criteria under Public Act 99-202. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning transportation.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Permanent Noise Monitoring Act is amended by
changing Section 10 as follows:
(620 ILCS 35/10) (from Ch. 15 1/2, par. 760)
Sec. 10. Establishment of permanent noise monitoring
systems.
(a) No later than December 31, 2008, each airport shall
have an operable permanent noise monitoring system. The system
shall be operated by the airport sponsor. The airport sponsor
shall be responsible for the construction or the design and
construction of any system not constructed or designed and
constructed as of the effective date of this amendatory Act of
the 96th General Assembly. The cost of the systems and of the
permanent noise monitoring reports under Section 15 of this Act
shall be borne by the airport sponsor.
(b) On or before June 30, 2018 each airport shall upgrade
its permanent noise monitoring system to be capable of
producing the data necessary to meet the requirements of this
Act enacted in Public Act 99-202. On June 30, 2018 and
thereafter an airport's permanent noise monitoring report and
noise contour maps shall be produced using the criteria in this
Act enacted in Public Act 99-202.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
