Bill Title: Amends the Circuit Courts Act. Provides that every circuit court judge shall announce that a person can file a complaint against him or her, prior to calling the first case of the day, and that a person can pick up a form with instructions on filing a complaint from the clerk. Provides that the clerk of the circuit court shall make available instructions for the filing of a complaint against a judge with the Judicial Inquiry Board. Provides that the clerk shall post within each courtroom a notice that a person may file a complaint against the judge and that instructions for filing a complaint may be obtained from the clerk.

1 AN ACT concerning courts.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Circuit Courts Act is amended by adding
5Section 28.5 as follows:
6 (705 ILCS 35/28.5 new)
7 Sec. 28.5. Complaints; information for filing. The clerk
8shall post in the common areas of the courthouse a notice that
9a person may file a complaint against the judge that includes
10contact information for the Judicial Inquiry Board. The
11Judicial Inquiry Board shall develop a uniform statewide notice
12and provide the format of the notice to each clerk.
