AN ACT concerning safety.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Alternate Fuels Act is amended by changing
Section 5 as follows:
(415 ILCS 120/5)
Sec. 5. Purpose. The The General Assembly declares that it
is the public policy of the State to promote and encourage the
use of alternate fuel in vehicles as a means to improve air
quality in the State and to meet the requirements of the
federal Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 and the federal Energy
Policy Act of 1992. The General Assembly further declares that
the State can play a leadership role in the development of
vehicles powered by alternate fuels, as well as in the
establishment of the necessary infrastructure to support this
emerging technology.
