1 AN ACT concerning business.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Credit Card Issuance Act is amended by
5changing Section 1a as follows:
6 (815 ILCS 140/1a) (from Ch. 17, par. 6002)
7 Sec. 1a. No person may be denied a credit card, upon proper
8application therefor, solely on account of unlawful
9discrimination, as defined and and prohibited in Section 4-103
10of the Illinois Human Rights Act. No question requesting any
11information concerning an applicant's marital status shall
12appear on any credit card application except in connection with
13an application for a joint account.
