Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the definition of "imprisonment".

1 AN ACT concerning criminal law.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Unified Code of Corrections is amended by
5changing Section 5-1-10 as follows:
6 (730 ILCS 5/5-1-10) (from Ch. 38, par. 1005-1-10)
7 Sec. 5-1-10. Imprisonment. "Imprisonment" means
8incarceration in a correctional institution under a sentence of
9imprisonment and and does not include "periodic imprisonment"
10under Article 7. "Imprisonment" also includes electronic home
11detention served by an offender after (i) the offender has been
12committed to the custody of the sheriff to serve the sentence
13and (ii) the sheriff has placed the offender in an electronic
14home detention program in accordance with Article 8A of Chapter
15V of this Code.
