Amends the State Records Act. Requires the head of each agency under the jurisdiction of the Governor to ensure that all records and information of that agency that may be made available to the public, be converted to digitized electronic material, and be made available to the public in an electronic form.

1 AN ACT concerning government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The State Records Act is amended by adding
5Section 27 as follows:
6 (5 ILCS 160/27 new)
7 Sec. 27. Digitized State records. Beginning as soon as
8practicable after the effective date of this amendatory Act of
9the 102nd General Assembly, the head of each agency under the
10jurisdiction of the Governor shall ensure that all records and
11information of that agency that may be made available to the
12public, shall be converted to digitized electronic material,
13and be made available to the public in an electronic form.
