Provides that the awarding of a prize may not be conditioned upon disclosure of the identity of the recipient.

SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
20 ILCS 1605/7.18 new

Amends the Illinois Lottery Law. Provides that the name, address, phone number, or other personally identifying information of a recipient of a prize may not be disclosed without the consent of the recipient and shall be exempt from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act. 1 AN ACT concerning the lottery.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Lottery Law is amended by adding
5Section 7.18 as follows:
6 (20 ILCS 1605/7.18 new)
7 Sec. 7.18. Disclosure of identity of winners. The
8Department may not disclose to the public the name, address,
9phone number, or other personally identifying information of
10any recipient of a prize unless the recipient consents in
11writing to the disclosure. Additionally, the name, address,
12phone number, or other personally identifying information of
13any recipient of a prize shall be exempt from disclosure under
14the Freedom of Information Act. The Department may not
15condition the awarding of any prize upon the disclosure of the
16identity of the recipient.
