Bill Title: Amends the School Code. Provides that a qualified student may take any online course for academic credit if the course (i) aligns with the Illinois Learning Standards, (ii) meets or exceeds the same standards as course offerings of the school district, and (iii) is taught by an instructor who holds a Professional Educator License. Provides that a school district retains the right to deny credit for an online course based on course appropriateness, alignment with the high school curriculum, cost, or student academic progress. Effective immediately.
