Bill Title: Amends the Illinois Human Rights Act. Deletes language from the definition of "sexual orientation" concerning gender identity. Provides that "gender identity" means a person's deeply felt, inherent sense of who the person is as a particular gender and that a person's gender identity may be the same or different from the sex of the person assigned at birth. Makes conforming changes. Amends the Criminal Code of 2012. Includes gender identity (rather than just gender) within the definition of a hate crime. Effective immediately.
