Summary

Amends the Personnel Code. Provides that all positions within the Illinois School for the Deaf and the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired are completely exempt from the jurisdiction of the Department of Central Management Services concerning the selection and tenure of employees on the basis of merit and fitness. Amends the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities Act. Allows the Superintendent of the Illinois School for the Deaf and the Superintendent of the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired to hire employees without being subject to the requirements of the Personnel Code. Makes conforming changes.
