| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 564 on page 5, by | ||||||
| 3 | replacing lines 18 through 20 with the following:

| 4 | "Illinois. The teaching of history shall include the | ||||||
| 5 | contributions made to society by Americans of different faith | ||||||
| 6 | practices, including, but not limited to, Muslim Americans, | ||||||
| 7 | Jewish Americans, Christian Americans, Hindu Americans, Sikh | ||||||
| 8 | Americans, Buddhist Americans, and any other collective | ||||||
| 9 | community of faith that has shaped America. No pupils shall be | ||||||
| 10 | graduated from the eighth grade of".
