Section
68A.402,
Code
2016,
is
amended
by
adding
1
the
following
new
subsection:

NEW
SUBSECTION
.
9A.
The
board
may
adopt
rules
to
allow
3
a
committee
to
amend
a
disclosure
report
filed
pursuant
to
4
this
section.
If
the
board
adopts
such
rules,
the
board
shall
5
provide
notice
of
having
received
an
amended
candidate’s
6
committee
disclosure
report,
by
electronic
means,
to
all
other
7
candidate’s
committees
designated
by
a
candidate
seeking
8
nomination
or
election
to
the
same
public
office
within
9
twenty-four
hours
of
receiving
the
amended
disclosure
report.

inclusion
of
this
explanation
does

members

the
general

This
bill
relates
to
the
filing
of
amendments
to
campaign
14
finance
disclosure
reports.
The
bill
provides
that
the
Iowa
15
ethics
and
campaign
disclosure
board
(board)
may
adopt
rules
to
16
allow
a
committee
to
amend
a
filed
disclosure
report.
Under
17
the
bill,
the
board
is
required
to
provide
notice
of
receiving
18
an
amended
candidate’s
committee
disclosure
report
to
all
19
other
candidate’s
committees
designated
by
a
candidate
seeking
20
nomination
or
election
to
the
same
public
office.
The
bill
21
requires
that
notice
be
made
by
electronic
means
within
24
22
hours
of
the
board
receiving
the
amended
disclosure
report.
