598.21F,
subsection
5,
Code
2015,
is

amended
to
read
as
follows:

5.
Obligations
of
child.
The
child
shall
forward,
to
each
3
parent,
reports
of
grades
awarded
at
the
completion
of
each
4
academic
session
within
ten
days
of
receipt
of
the
reports.

Unless
otherwise
specified
by
the
parties,
a
postsecondary
6
education
subsidy
awarded
by
the
court
shall
be
terminated
7
upon
the
child’s
completion
of
the
first
any
academic
calendar
8
year
of
course
instruction
if
the
child
fails
to
maintain
9
a
cumulative
grade
point
average
in
the
median
range
or
10
above
during
that
first
calendar
year
.
Once
a
child
becomes
11
ineligible
for
a
postsecondary
education
subsidy
due
to
the
12
child’s
failure
to
maintain
a
cumulative
grade
point
average
13
in
the
median
range
or
above,
the
child
shall
not
regain
14
eligibility
for
a
postsecondary
education
subsidy
unless
the
15
child
subsequently
achieves
and
maintains
a
cumulative
grade
16
point
average
in
the
median
range
or
above.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
provides,
with
regard
to
the
ordering
of
a
21
postsecondary
education
subsidy
for
a
child,
that
the
year
of
22
course
instruction
to
be
used
as
the
basis
for
determining
23
whether
the
child
maintains
the
necessary
cumulative
grade
24
point
average
is
any
academic
calendar
year,
rather
than
the
25
first
calendar
year.
The
bill
also
provides
that
once
a
child
26
becomes
ineligible
for
a
postsecondary
education
subsidy
due
27
to
the
child’s
failure
to
maintain
a
cumulative
grade
point
28
average
in
the
median
range
or
above,
the
child
shall
not
29
regain
postsecondary
education
subsidy
eligibility
unless
the
30
child
subsequently
achieves
and
maintains
a
cumulative
grade
31
point
average
in
the
median
range
or
above.
