is
amended
by
adding
the
following
new
subparagraph:

violation

if
a
determination
is
made
that
the
offense
was
sexually

motivated
pursuant
to
section
692A.126.

Sec.
2.
Section
692A.106,
Code
2021,
is
amended
by
adding

the
following
new
subsection:

SUBSECTION

A
sex
offender
who
is
required
to

register
in
another
jurisdiction
under
the
other
jurisdiction’s

sex
offender
registry
but
who
resides,
is
employed,
or
attends
10
school
in
this
state
shall
be
required
to
register
for
a
period
11
of
time
equal
to
the
period
of
time
required
under
the
other
12
jurisdiction’s
requirements
or
under
Iowa
law,
whichever
is
13
longer.

Section
692A.126,
subsection
1,
Code
2021,
is

amended
by
adding
the
following
new
paragraph:

is
amended
by
adding
the

subsection:

A
person
convicted
of
extortion
under

this
section
shall
be
required
to
register
as
a
sex
offender

pursuant
to
the
provisions
of
chapter
692A,
if
a
determination
22
is
made
that
the
offense
was
sexually
motivated
pursuant
to
23
section
692A.126.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
the
sex
offender
registry
including
28
duration
of
registration
requirements
and
sexually
motivated
29
extortion.

The
bill
provides
that
a
sex
offender
who
is
required
to
31
register
in
another
jurisdiction
under
the
other
jurisdiction’s
32
sex
offender
registry
but
who
resides,
is
employed,
or
attends
33
school
in
Iowa
shall
be
required
to
register
for
a
period
of
34
time
equal
to
the
period
of
time
required
under
the
other

bill
