  1  1    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  22.10A  Copyrights.
  1  2    The existence of a copyright, without more, shall not be a
  1  3 defense to the denial of a request to examine or copy a public
  1  4 record under this chapter.
  1  5                           EXPLANATION
  1  6 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
  1  7 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly.
  1  8    This bill provides that the existence of a copyright,
  1  9 without more, shall not be a defense to the denial of a request
  1 10 to examine or copy a public record under Iowa's open records
  1 11 law.
