LEGISLATIVE TAX EXPENDITURE COMMITTEE == TAX 1 2 EXPENDITURE REVIEW == FUNDING FOR THE UNMET NEEDS OF OLDER 1 3 INDIVIDUALS. In addition to any other review required under 1 4 section 2.48 in 2018, the legislative tax expenditure committee 1 5 shall review tax expenditures to determine if an existing tax 1 6 expenditure should be amended or eliminated in order to provide 1 7 ongoing funding for the area agencies on aging to meet the 1 8 unmet needs of the increasing population of older individuals 1 9 in the state. The committee shall include in the report to 1 10 the legislative council required pursuant to section 2.48, 1 11 subsection 2, paragraph "a", subparagraph (2), recommendations 1 12 based upon the findings of the committee to provide such 1 13 ongoing funding. 1 14 EXPLANATION 1 15 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 1 16 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly. 1 17 This bill requires the legislative tax expenditure committee 1 18 of the legislative council in 2018 to review tax expenditures 1 19 to determine if an existing tax expenditure should be amended 1 20 or eliminated in order to provide ongoing funding for the area 1 21 agencies on aging to meet the unmet needs of the increasing 1 22 population of older individuals in the state. The bill 1 23 requires that the committee, as part of its required report to 1 24 the legislative council, include recommendations based upon the 1 25 findings of the committee to provide such ongoing funding.
