S.F. 2054 Section 1. NATIONALLY DETERMINED COMMITMENT TO CUT 1 GREENHOUSE GAS POLLUTION. The director of the department of 2 natural resources shall work with representatives from the 3 department of transportation, the department of agriculture 4 and land stewardship, the economic development authority, and 5 the utilities board of the department of commerce to develop 6 a plan to match the nationally determined commitment to 7 achieve a fifty to fifty-two percent reduction from 2005 levels 8 in economy-wide net greenhouse gas pollution by 2030. The 9 department of natural resources shall submit the plan to the 10 general assembly no later than December 31, 2022. 11 EXPLANATION 12 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 13 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 14 This bill requires the director of the department of 15 natural resources (DNR) to work with representatives from the 16 department of transportation, the department of agriculture and 17 land stewardship, the economic development authority, and the 18 utilities board of the department of commerce to develop a plan 19 to match the nationally determined commitment to achieve a 50 20 to 52 percent reduction from 2005 levels in economy-wide net 21 greenhouse gas pollution by 2030.
