Section
1.

FOSTER
CARE.
The
department
of
human
services
shall
convene
a
3
study
committee
regarding
best
practices
for
the
placement
of
4
juveniles
in
foster
care
with
histories
of
violent
or
sexually
5
predatory
behavior
in
order
to
reduce
the
risks
posed
to
other
6
juveniles
in
foster
care.
The
department
shall
include
at
7
least
four
stakeholders
as
members
of
the
study
committee.
The
8
stakeholders
shall,
at
a
minimum,
consist
of
a
representative
9
from
the
department
of
human
services,
a
juvenile
court
judge,
10
a
representative
from
the
county
attorneys
association,
and
a
11
representative
from
a
private
foster
care
agency.
12
The
study
committee
shall
consider
alternatives
to
foster
13
care
facility
placements;
the
social,
financial,
and
welfare
14
services
currently
available;
and
alternative
services
that
15
should
be
developed
to
reduce
the
risk
juveniles
with
a
history
16
of
violent
or
sexually
predatory
behavior
pose
to
juveniles
17
without
histories
of
violent
or
sexually
predatory
behavior
18
in
foster
care.
The
study
committee
shall
submit
a
report
19
detailing
its
findings
and
making
recommendations
to
the
20
governor
and
the
general
assembly
by
December
15,
2022.

This
bill
provides
for
a
study
committee
to
determine
best

practices
for
the
placement
of
juveniles
with
histories
of

violent
or
sexually
predatory
behavior
in
foster
care.

The
bill
directs
the
department
of
human
services
to
convene
28
a
study
committee
regarding
best
practices
for
the
placement
of
29
juveniles
in
foster
care
with
histories
of
violent
or
sexually
30
predatory
behavior
in
order
to
reduce
the
risks
posed
to
other
31
juveniles
in
foster
care.
The
department
shall
include
a
32
minimum
of
four

a
