1.
Section
80.45A,
subsection
5,
paragraph
d,
Code
1
2022,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:

d.
This
section
subsection
applies
to
all
public
funds
3
expended
for
a
purpose
described
in
paragraph
“c”
on
or
after
4
January
1
June
30
,
2022.

Sec.
2.
EFFECTIVE
DATE.
This
Act,
being
deemed
of
immediate
6
importance,
takes
effect
upon
enactment.

EXPLANATION
8
The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
9
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.
10
Under
current
law,
on
or
after
January
1,
2022,
public
11
funds
shall
not
be
expended
by
a
public
employer
or
public
12
employee
to
procure
lodging,
procure
space
or
services
for
13
certain
activities,
or
to
host
certain
activities
with
a
14
lodging
provider
that
has
not
certified
to
the
commissioner
of
15
public
safety
that
each
of
the
lodging
provider’s
employees
16
has
completed
human
trafficking
prevention
training.
The
bill
17
provides
that
public
funds
shall
not
be
expended
by
a
public
18
employer
or
public
employee
for
such
purposes
on
or
after
June
19
30,
2022.

The
bill
is
effective
upon
enactment.
