157.13,
subsection
1,
Code
2021,
is

amended
by
adding
the
following
new
paragraph:

PARAGRAPH
.
0b.
A
licensee
may
practice
at
a
location
3
which
is
not
a
licensed
salon,
school
of
cosmetology
arts
and
4
sciences,
or
licensed
barbershop
if
a
wedding
is
scheduled
to
5
occur
at
that
location
on
the
day
the
practice
occurs.
The
6
department
shall
adopt
rules
for
the
practice
of
cosmetology
at
7
such
a
location,
which
shall
include
the
creation
of
a
database
8
for
the
reporting
and
recording
of
complaints
regarding
9
services
performed
at
such
a
location.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
12
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
allows
a
licensed
cosmetologist
to
practice
14
cosmetology
at
a
location
that
is
not
a
licensed
salon,
school
15
of
cosmetology
arts
and
sciences,
or
licensed
barbershop
if
16
a
wedding
is
scheduled
to
occur
at
that
location
on
the
day
17
the
practice
occurs.
The
bill
requires
the
Iowa
department
of
18
public
health
to
adopt
rules
for
the
practice
of
cosmetology
19
at
such
a
location.
The
rules
shall
include
the
creation
20
of
a
database
for
the
reporting
and
recording
of
complaints
21
regarding
services
performed
at
such
a
location.
